Croton
The croton is a popular house plant and its attraction is obvious
with its vivid foliage colors and varied leaf shapes. Crotons need
fairly constant temperature which will not drop below 600
F, and they also need high humidity.

Temperature: Warm...minimum of 600
F. in winter.
Light: Good light is necessary. East or
west facing windowsill is ideal.
Water: Water liberally from spring to
autumn. Water more sparingly in winter.
Air Humidity: Air absolutely must be
moist. Mist leaves regularly, daily if possible. Wash leaves
frequently.
Repotting: If necessary every 2-3 years.
Special Problems
Loss of Lower Leaves: If brown tips are
present, air or compost is too dry. If brown edges are present,
temperature is too low.
Loss of Leaf Color: Not enough light
Insects: Red spider mites & scale can be
a problem. Inspect plant often and closely.
